    ABOUT Leah Anderson-Morris

Hey Guys, Leah here. A little about me — I’m a dedicated part-time uni student, full time athlete who is committed to balancing high performance sport and study. I’m a hardworking and motivated person who has been given an incredible opportunity to travel to the UK for an upcoming netball tour within our SASI program here in SA. This trip will allow me to gain international exposure, compete and develop my skills against a different brand of netball, and represent my team/state while gaining unforgettable experience on and off the court.

My netball journey started at my home club in country where I fell in love with the game. Growing up in a smaller community taught me the importance of hard work, resilience, and making the most of every opportunity I was given — I was fortunate to have exposure with more intense netball at a young age, playing in the higher senior levels (won a flag and some pretty trophies as well!!)

As my netball developed, I made the move to Adelaide when I was still in U11’s to challenge myself further and compete at a higher level for one of the top clubs in the state. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by elite athletes, coaches, and environments that have helped shape me both on and off the court.

One of the moments I’m most proud of was during the 15U School State Championships, where I came into the team as a reserve player and was awarded MVP for South Australia at the end of the tourn.

Since my junior years, I’ve also had the opportunity to be involved within a Premier League squad and environment, which has exposed me to the standards, professionalism, and commitment required at the highest levels of the sport. I’ve gone on to represent South Australia as a top-age 17 athlete and again as a bottom-age 19 athlete, experiences that pushed me to continue striving for improvement in my game.

Both years, I was incredibly grateful to be selected in the Australian squad following nationals, and at the 17/U Australian camp I was recognised within the Emerging Elite category — an achievement that meant a lot to me and motivated me to keep chasing bigger goals within the sport.

Currently, I’m playing Premier League Reserves for Contax while also being part of the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) program, continuing to develop my game in a high-performance environment alongside my studies. Every step of my journey so far has helped shape the athlete and person I am today, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead — including the opportunity to tour the UK and continue growing both on and off the court.

To make this trip possible, I will be raising funds to help cover all the tour costs — travel expenses, accommodation, uniforms, competition fees, and ofc some cheeky spending money while travelling, lol! In my sparetime, I will be trying to organise fundraising events and sponsorships, as well as hopefully having community support to reach my goal. Every donation, will help me be one step closer to representing my team overseas in this amazing, hard to get opportunity.

Thank you so much for supporting my journey, always appreciative of everyone and what they do to help me with my dreams! Love ya
