ABOUT liam barry
My name is Liam Barry, and I’m 35 years old. For the past five years, I’ve proudly competed in the Special Olympics, where I’ve found not just a sport to play, but a community that celebrates ability, effort, and determination. I am raising funds to help me take part in an upcoming sporting event, covering the costs of travel, equipment, and participation fees. This opportunity means a lot to me because it allows me to continue doing what I love while representing my team and showing others what’s possible through dedication and perseverance.
Living with Epilepsy and Glucose Transport Deficiency Type 1 Syndrome (Glut1 DS) presents daily challenges, but sports have given me strength, purpose, and confidence. Training and competing push me to grow stronger every day — physically, mentally, and emotionally. On the field, I’m not defined by my diagnoses; I’m defined by my passion, teamwork, and drive to reach my goals.
With your support, I’ll be able to focus fully on my training and competition, giving my best effort and making every moment count. I am committed to preparing, showing up, and representing my community with pride. Taking part in this event is more than just competing, it’s about inspiring others who face challenges like mine, and proving that determination can open doors to incredible opportunities. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who believes in me and helps make this journey possible.
Thank you for being part of my story.
