ABOUT Liam Goldfinch
Support Me Coach Team South Australia at the Boccia Australia National Titles
Hi, I'm Liam Goldfinch, President of Boccia South Australia, a former boccia athlete, coach and passionate advocate for people living with physical disabilities.
Living with Cerebral Palsy, I know firsthand the life-changing impact that sport can have. Boccia gave me the opportunity to compete, develop confidence, build friendships and become part of an incredible community. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate my time to helping others discover the same opportunities.
In 2021, I re-established Boccia South Australia after the sport had become inactive in our state. Since then, I've volunteered thousands of hours to grow the organisation, create opportunities for athletes, organise competitions and Come & Try sessions, develop volunteers, and build an inclusive boccia community across South Australia.
Today, I'm proud to coach our South Australian athletes while continuing to work towards growing the sport for future generations.
This year, I will be travelling to the Boccia Australia National Titles at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra. As President of Boccia South Australia, I will also be coaching and supporting our South Australian athletes throughout the competition.
Attending the National Titles is about much more than being courtside. It allows me to:
- Coach and support South Australian athletes during competition.
- Represent Boccia South Australia at the national level.
- Learn from athletes, coaches and officials from across Australia.
- Build relationships that strengthen boccia in South Australia.
- Bring new knowledge, ideas and opportunities back home to continue growing our sport.
As a volunteer, I personally fund the costs of attending these championships. Your donation will help cover:
- Flights
- Accommodation
- Local transport
- Meals
- Other competition-related expenses
Every donation, no matter the size, will help me continue supporting South Australian athletes and growing boccia across our state.
Thank you for believing in inclusive sport and helping make this journey possible. Your support isn't just helping me attend a competition—it's helping create more opportunities for people with physical disabilities to experience the many benefits of boccia.
