Hi! My name is Liam Granato, I'm a NSW sprinter who aspires for great things. After recently competing at the 2025 National Athletics Championships where I again achieved a Personal Best time, I have been selected to compete at my first international competition, and proudly represent Australia as part of the 2025 Oceania Cup team at Tonga in October.

I differ from other current professional athletes in that I've only started an elite training schedule in 2024, where I recognised my potential was still far in front of me, which is an exciting prospect. 

I'm extremely proud that I am born of a small regional Little Athletics club with the grass track at the Eastlakes Lake Macquarie, where I have so many great memories, who I still represent with great pride, and owe everything to. I represent my club with pride on an international stage, I have a lot more to prove as an athlete.

My development through athletics has been a long journey that has only provided a truly interesting story in the last year, and over the last two seasons, I have recognised an obsession with reaching my potential, I'm totally committed to breaking sub 10 seconds 100m times, and sub 20 second 200m times, or bust. This level of commitment has created the opportunity and provided the honour of being selected to represent on an international stage.

I've reached a stage in life where Athletics is my no.1 priority alongside finishing my Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Newcastle and maintaining myself as a self-funded athlete, also competing at the 2025 National Uni Champs.

This upcoming competition in Tonga is a self funded venture, so like any driven 21yo, living solo, and working 2 jobs, I am giving the shout out to my fellow Aussies, in the hope you might consider offering your generous support and assist with any generous financial support you can spare.
