My name is Luca Giannessi and I am incredibly honoured to be representing my region, Melbourne Inner East and the state of Victoria at the Special Olympics Australia National Games taking place from October 19th – 23rd 2026.

Being selected for the National Games is one of the proudest achievements of my sporting journey. Through Special Olympics, I have gained confidence, independence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging within my community. Sport has helped me grow not only as an athlete but also as a person, teaching me resilience, teamwork, and determination.

I enjoy competing in many swimming events with my favourites being the Individual Medley, Breaststroke and Butterfly. I am also proud to compete alongside my teammates in the Medley Relay where teamwork and trust are just as important as individual performance in the pool.

As I prepare for the National Games, I am training hard each week to achieve my personal best. Competing at a national level comes with costs including travel, accommodation, uniforms and competition expenses.

To help make this journey possible, I am raising funds through the Australian Sports Foundation. Donations made through this platform directly support my participation in the National Games.
