My name is Luke I am a volunteer firefighter, protecting our local community out west in regional New England. But when I step off the fire truck and onto the ice, my passion is ice hockey. 

I have just achieved a major milestone: selection to represent Australia's emergency responders on the world stage, playing on an Australian emergency services Ice Hockey Team at the globally sanctioned 2027 World Police and Fire Games in Perth. 

Competing at an international level while living in regional NSW brings massive logistical and financial hurdles. To stand on the ice in Perth, I face a huge travel itinerary, starting with regional flights from Armidale, 14 nights of tournament accommodation, ground transit, and extensive multi-piece oversized baggage fees to transport my heavy player kit and stick bags. Furthermore, to battle safely against elite international teams, I must upgrade my aging, worn-out protective equipment to standard-compliant, high-quality safety gear.

My goal is to raise $13,288 to fully fund this representative campaign, spanning our final competitive preparations at the Newcastle Challenge Cup through to the World Games in Western Australia. Because I am managing this journey through the Australian Sports Foundation, every single donation made by our community and local businesses is 100% tax-deductible.
