ABOUT Maddison Hoen
Baseball isn’t just a sport for Maddison—it’s where she feels most at home.
Since picking up a glove at just 8 years old at Alkimos Ball Club, WA, she has dedicated herself to the game she loves. Through countless training sessions, weekends at the ballpark, tryouts and hours of hard work, Maddison has grown not only as an athlete but as a determined, resilient and respectful young person.
As a young female baseball player, Maddison has often had to work harder to earn opportunities in a sport where girls are still underrepresented. Despite the challenges that can come with competing in a traditionally male-dominated environment, she has never let barriers stand in the way of her passion. Her commitment, perseverance and love for the game have helped her continue to thrive and prove that baseball is a sport for everyone.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Maddison has been selected to compete in the Barclay Cup in Victoria from 27 September to 3 October 2026, where she will have the opportunity to represent Western Australia against some of the country’s best young baseball talent.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will help her continue to develop her skills, build lifelong friendships, and chase her dream of playing baseball at the highest level possible. Just as importantly, it gives her the chance to be a role model for other young girls who aspire to play baseball and to show that there is a place for them on the diamond.
Travelling interstate for elite sporting events comes with significant costs, including flights, accommodation, tournament fees, uniforms, equipment and travel expenses. Our family is committed to helping Maddison achieve this opportunity, and we are reaching out to our community for support.
Every donation, sponsorship and share of this campaign helps make this dream a reality. No contribution is too small, and every bit of support reminds Maddison that she has an incredible community standing behind her. Your support is not only an investment in one young athlete—it is also a way to encourage greater female participation in baseball and help break down barriers for the next generation of girls who love the game.
Thank you for being part of her journey and helping a young athlete continue to pursue her passion.
Together, we can help Maddison step onto the diamond at the 2026 Barclay Cup, proudly represent Western Australia, and inspire more girls to believe they belong in baseball too.
