ABOUT Maia Gardner
Our daughter Maia has been dancing since she was just two years old. What began as tiny ballet slippers and weekend recitals has grown into a deep passion that drives her every day.
At six, Maia joined Sunshine Coast Allstars (SCA) — and that’s where everything changed. She started with Cheerleading and Pom, then discovered her love for Hip Hop, which quickly became her true home. The club is like family to her; her coaches and teammates have helped her grow into the confident, determined young dancer she is today.
Dance gives Maia purpose, joy, and confidence. She lights up on stage, and it’s where she truly shines. Over the years, her Hip Hop team has achieved multiple first-place titles, competing at around seven competitions a year — mostly across Queensland, with trips interstate to Sydney and Melbourne. In 2023, Maia travelled with her team to Hawaii to compete at the Global Games, where her SCA Hip Hop team proudly took out first place in their division — an unforgettable experience that deepened her love for performing and teamwork.
Now, her biggest dream has come true. After a national audition process open to dancers from across Australia, Maia has been selected to represent Australia in the Junior Hip Hop Team at the ICU World Dance Championships in Florida, April 2026.
We are beyond proud of her dedication and the years of hard work that have led to this. This opportunity is the culmination of her passion, persistence, and love for dance. However, it also comes with significant costs — including interstate training camps, competition entry fees, uniforms, and international flights and accommodation for the Florida competition.
We’re fundraising to help ease some of the financial pressure so Maia can focus fully on her training and preparation. Every contribution — big or small — will help her take this once-in-a-lifetime step towards representing Australia on the world stage.
Thank you for supporting Maia and helping her make this dream a reality.
“Thank you for believing in me and helping my dream of representing Australia come true.”
