Majestic Ice Australia (MIA) is one of Australia’s leading synchronized skating clubs and a proud member of the Sydney Figure Skating Club (SFSC). Founded in 2009, MIA supports skaters from beginner level through to elite international competition.

At the top of our pathway is Team Unity, Australia’s senior synchronized skating team. Established in 2017, Team Unity has won the national title every year since, showing young skaters what is possible when dedication and teamwork come together.

We are raising funds to support the training, development and competition costs that allow our skaters to succeed, including ice time, coaching, choreography, costumes, athlete support, and interstate and international travel. Synchronized skating in Australia is largely self-funded, making community support essential to keeping this pathway strong.

This work matters now more than ever. Synchronized skating has recently been included in the Winter Youth Olympic Games, marking the sport’s first step into the Olympic movement and opening the door for a new generation of athletes.

Our community has faced major challenges since the closure of Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink in 2022, forcing skaters and coaches to travel interstate just to train. Despite this, our teams have continued to perform at the highest level, including strong results across all divisions at the 2025 Australian Championships. Our Senior skaters, Team Unity, have qualified to represent Australia at the World Synchronized Skating Championships in Salzburg, Austria in April 2026.

With Canterbury set to reopen in late 2026, we have a unique opportunity to rebuild a true home for synchronized skating in Sydney, a place where young skaters can train, belong, and aspire to reach the world stage.
