Founded in 1911, Manly Life Saving Club is one of the world's oldest surf life saving clubs. Our members have saved over 10,000 lives. In over 100 years during which our members have served our community, nobody has ever lost their lives swimming between the flags at Manly, one of the world's busiest and most iconic beaches.

Surf Sports is a key pillar in attracting, developing, and retaining the highly skilled water people who ensure a safe environment at Manly beach. Surf sports are for everyone at Manly LSC, catering to "high-performance", "fun and fit" and "confidence-building" groups across over 800 Nippers aged 5 to 14, over 100 Open competitors aged 15 to 29, and over 100 Masters competitors aged 30 to 70+.

We run a sustainable surf sports program for all age groups and ability levels, ensuring a consistent pipeline of patrolling members to keep our community safe. We are one of the only clubs in NSW to consistently achieve a top-10 finish at state championships across all three surf life saving divisions of Nippers, Open, and Masters. Our athletes excel in surf life saving, ocean ski racing, flat water sprint kayaking, open water swimming and pool swimming from junior to masters ranks. These people are essential to our ability to perform surf rescues in all conditions.

It costs Manly LSC over $300,000 per year to support the training and development of our people, and we need your help. Manly LSC relies on our members' fees, fundraising efforts and sponsorship to fund our surf sports programs. The costs of participating in competitive surf sports have increased massively over recent years. Swim squad fees, event entry fees, and equipment costs for all groups are growing yearly, and high-performance competition has increasingly moved to a national series format involving significant expense.

Manly LSC has created Surf Sports Scholarships to help our members with the costs of training and participation. Your generous donation will help us continue to deliver the enormous community benefits our surf sports program provides, and ensure surf sports participation does not become restricted to a decreasing handful of families who can afford it.
