Support the Future of Rugby League on the Northern Beaches

Ten years ago, we identified a critical gap between our local junior players and the Manly Sea Eagles’ junior representative pathway. From that moment, Manly Junior Development was born with a mission to bridge that divide and nurture grassroots talent.

Watching a local junior make their representative debut is one of sport’s most rewarding and emotional milestones. Today, we’re proud to announce a record number of registrations for our 2025 Development Program, marking a decade of commitment to growing rugby league on the Northern Beaches.

With over 250 boys and girls aged U13 to U16 involved, our program continues to put kids first, offering them the opportunity to develop both on and off the field. This success would not be possible without the unwavering support of the Manly Warringah District Junior Rugby League and the generous sponsorship of Manly Leagues Club.

Our 2024 U16 Development Team, coached by Manly premiership winning legend Matt Orford, exemplifies the impact of our program. Seventeen players from this squad progressed to represent Manly in the Harold Matthews U17 team, with many securing multi-year contracts to stay with the club they love.

Behind the scenes, our entire coaching and support staff including trainers, physios, managers, and medics are dedicated volunteers who generously give their time to help our young athletes thrive.

As the 2025 season draws to a close, the next generation is preparing to step up, with many players vying for selection in the 2026 Harold Matthews Summer Squad.

The journey to representative rugby league is built on countless hours of training, resilience, and personal growth. It’s in these unseen moments that character is forged and potential is unlocked. Through the tireless efforts of our volunteers and the support of our sponsors, Manly Junior Development continues to shape not only elite athletes but well-rounded individuals.

Each year, we provide over 250 young people with access to football and life skills including education, employment pathways, mentoring, coaching, physiotherapy, nutrition, and mental resilience.
