For more than 30 years, Mareeba Gymnastics Club has been built by families, volunteers and local businesses who believe in giving our young people a safe, positive place to grow. As a not‑for‑profit community club, we support more than 300 children to stay active, build confidence and develop lifelong physical skills. We deliver outreach programs across Far North Queensland and provide inclusive programs for all ages and abilities.

For the past decade, our Club has worked tirelessly to save, fundraise and plan for a facility upgrade our community desperately needs. Through competitions, community fundraising, careful financial management and the dedication of countless volunteers, we have raised $465,000 in capital toward this project. This is an extraordinary achievement for a regional club and reflects the strength and commitment of our community. We are currently awaiting the outcome of a State Government grant that, if successful, will take us close to our goal, but we still need your help with the final stretch over the line.

Our project will deliver a 455 sqm extension and an in‑ground foam pit - critical infrastructure that will allow more children to participate, improve safety, support advanced skill development, and keep regional athletes training locally. The project is fully construction‑ready, with design drawings, costings, and council support.

⭐ International Olympic Team Host Venue Potential

There is also a genuine opportunity for us to become a host training venue for an international Olympic gymnastics team in the lead‑up to Brisbane 2032. We are working closely with the Queensland Olympic Committee and Gymnastics Queensland to progress this opportunity, with several international Olympic head coaches already expressing interest in basing their teams in Mareeba once our facility meets the minimum competition-grade standards. Completing this upgrade will meet those venue standards and unlock this once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity for our region.
