    My name is Matt Major and I’ve been selected to represent Australia in Men’s American Football at the Festival of Football in New Zealand this July.


    I have been playing American football for almost 5 years. During this time, I've been lucky enough to have played professionally in Europe, and win multiple national championships for the Queensland Sundevils in both contact and flag American football competitions.


    The one thing that has been missing is playing for Australia. Due to being overseas in 2025 playing football during the Australia team's first competition in almost a decade, I have never had the opportunity to play for my country; so I am thrilled to have been invited to take part in this incredible opportunity.


    It's the unfortunate reality that, like most amateur sports, we need to self-fund a big portion of the trip, which is quite a significant cost to all those involved. So, I am reaching out and hoping that people might be able to help me get there.
