Hi everyone,

My name is Max Brown-Tjakuapi, and I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been selected to captain the Under 20’s South West Sonics team, who will be travelling to Japan in June 2026 to take on some of Japan’s top talent.

On top of that, I’ve also been given the amazing opportunity to join Team Oz the following month to tour the United States.

Basketball has always been more than just a sport for me, it’s my passion, my focus, and a pathway to something bigger. Through basketball, I’ve learned about leadership, teamwork, and resilience, and it’s also given me the chance to be a role model for my family, especially my cousins. My dream is to build a future through the sport I love and create opportunities that will help support them in the years to come.

These two tours are a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent my community, learn from some of the best, and grow both on and off the court. But to make it happen, I need your support.

All funds raised will go toward covering travel costs, accommodation, uniforms, and other tour expenses. Any contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference and help me continue chasing my dream while representing my family, my team, and my community with pride.
