ABOUT Max Luftensteiner
Hi, I’m Max. I’m 15 and I’ve been selected to represent Hockey ACT at the U16 Australian National Championships in Tasmania this April. Playing at Nationals is something I’ve worked towards for years, and I’m really proud to have the chance to wear the ACT colours again.
Living in Wodonga means training isn’t easy. Twice a week I travel 3.5 hours each way to Canberra for a 90‑minute session. I leave school at lunchtime, study in the car, train hard, and get home late — then do it all again. I also train locally with the Albury Wodonga Spitfires twice a week to keep improving.
This summer I trained five days a week because I wanted to give myself the best chance of being selected. It’s my fourth year with Hockey ACT, and every year I try to push myself further.
I’m raising funds to help cover the costs of travelling to Tasmania, accommodation, and competition fees. Any support means a lot to me and helps make this opportunity possible.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting my hockey journey.
