ABOUT Max Scutchings

West Beach, SA

I'm proud to be recognised as a leader at the Adelaide Soaring Club where I help mentor new pilots. I co-founded the Young Guns Program designed to recruit and train the next generation of young aviators - we already have 20 members and growing fast. I have also achieved a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive loops in a glider.

Other Achievements

  • I flew 1948km in four days during the Adelaide Cup long weekend including flights of 516km, 526km, and 596km ranking #1 and #2 on the WeGlide Aust/NZ leaderboard
  • I flew a solo flight to 17,800 ft narrowly missing my Diamond Height badge by just 178 metres
  • I am recognised by senior pilots as a "once in a generation" aviator

Looking Ahead

I am currently focused on:

  • Training with Australia's Junior Gliding Squad for the 2029 World Championships
  • Continuing to inspire and mentor through the Young Guns program
  • Building my experience to qualify as a RAAF pilot
  • Representing Australia - both in the air and in the community

Donations will directly support:

  • training and coaching costs
  • Competition entry fees and logistics
  • Aircraft access and equipment
  • Travel and accomodation

Aviation has shaped my life. It's given me discipline, purpose and a dream that's worth chasing every single day.

Together, let's take Australian youth aviation to new heights....
