MAYA'S EARLY FOOTBALL CAREER

Maya has been a passionate footballer from a young age, beginning her journey in Year 2, where she played exclusively with boys until the age of 10. From the outset, she demonstrated strong determination and a clear ambition to play at the highest level.

At just 13 years old, Maya was selected for the Football SA Fulltime Pathway Program, marking a significant milestone in her development. Throughout her youth career, she went on to represent Football South Australia at multiple National Youth Championships, showcasing her talent on the national stage.

In addition to this, Maya is also a member of her School Soccer Academy, where she has received multiple Student Athlete of the Year awards and has been consistently recognised for her performance, dedication, and leadership both on and off the field.

OPPORTUNITY

Towards the end of the past season, Maya accepted an invitation to join a team competing in the Rale Rasic Joeys Mini World Cup, travelling to Inverell, NSW in October. Her outstanding performance throughout the tournament, and in the matches that followed, earned her selection in the prestigious Team of the Tournament.

As part of this honour, Maya has been selected to travel to Germany in June 2026 on an international football tour, alongside teammates she has gained new connections with.

During the tour, Maya will take part in a four-day Dortmund Experience, where she will train at world-class facilities, play matches against German teams, and gain invaluable exposure to elite football environments. In addition to the football program, she will also have the opportunity to experience German culture through sightseeing and educational activities, making this an enriching experience both on and off the field.

A LOVE OF ALL THINGS FOOTBALL

Outside of her playing career, Maya is deeply devoted to all aspects of football. Whenever she has the opportunity to support younger girls, she does so enthusiastically—whether through coaching, assisting at training, offering encouragement, or simply being a positive presence. She is always eager to give back to the game and those coming through behind her.

Maya is frequently called upon by coaches from other clubs to assist with training sessions and to participate in games. Her time within the Football SA program has instilled a strong sense of professionalism, which, combined with her gentle and supportive nature, makes her a valued and admired role model among players and coaches alike.

Whether for one week, one month, or beyond the football field, Maya’s trip to Germany will provide invaluable opportunities for exposure to high-level football, cultural enrichment, and personal growth.

Maya is seeking support to help meet the financial commitments required to make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible. Costs include airfares, accommodation, uniforms, program fees, and associated travel expenses, the first month being $10,000.
