Hi, I’m Megan, a recurve archer based in Sydney, NSW, and a member of the 2026 Australian National Team.

My long-term objective is to be selected for the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. After discovering archery as an adult, I’m motivated to show that it’s possible to begin later, develop at a high level, and still pursue ambitious international sporting goals, all while holding down a career outside of sport.

Preparation for LA 2028 is already underway. Over the coming seasons, I will be attending a range of international competitions, alongside domestic events, selection trials, and national training camps. These opportunities are vital for gaining experience, improving performance, and meeting the standards required for Olympic selection.

Like many athletes in minority sports, I balance my training and competition schedule with full-time work to support the cost of living in Sydney and to help fund my sporting career. At present, attending competitions depends on having sufficient paid leave available and enough savings to cover athlete contributions required by Archery Australia. As the 2028 Olympic cycle progresses, I will need to increase both training and competition commitments, which will require taking additional unpaid leave from work. This makes fundraising and sponsorship support increasingly important. Without the assistance of businesses, community support, and the ASF, many athletes would not be able to continue competing at this level.

Funds raised will go directly toward supporting my sporting pathway, including:

• International and domestic travel to competitions

• Medical and recovery expenses, such as physiotherapy

• Equipment purchases and consumables, including arrows and other essential gear
