ABOUT Melbourne Open Water Swimming Club
Supporting Safety in and Around the Water
At the Melbourne Midday Swimming Club, the safety and wellbeing of our swimmers is our highest priority.
Each week, our members enjoy open water swimming at Williamstown Beach, supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who help keep swimmers safe both in and out of the water. Behind every swim session is a significant amount of preparation, training, and equipment that helps create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Fundraising plays a vital role in allowing us to continue investing in water safety. It helps us provide ongoing training for our volunteers and support crew, including first aid certification, water safety education, swimmer supervision training, and event management procedures for open water swimming.
Funds raised also help us purchase, maintain, and replace essential safety equipment, ensuring that our club remains well-equipped to respond to incidents and support swimmers when needed. In addition, fundraising enables us to provide facilities and resources that help swimmers stay comfortable before and after their swims, particularly during the colder months.
By supporting our fundraising efforts, you are helping us maintain a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable open water swimming community for current and future members. Every contribution helps us continue the work of keeping our swimmers safe while fostering the camaraderie and spirit that make our club so special.
