The aims of the Foundation are to provide a steady and substantial income stream for the Mercantile Rowing Club to meet key strategic costs. Specifically:

Maintenance of a boathouse – Sprigg Fund

Our objective is to have sufficient capital available to assist the Club renovate the boathouse every 21 years, upon the expiry of the 21 year land lease.

Maintenance of an excellent fleet – Frederico Fund

This part of the Foundation established by Sean Colgan and named after a former great coach the Late Hubert Frederico, funds the Club's boat replacement program.

Assistance to Club athletes – Colgan Fund

This part of the fund is called the Colgan Fund, and supports our members competing overseas and needy athletes here in Australia.
