ABOUT Mika Naito

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page to help me compete at the 2025 world rowing championships!

I’m in Year 12 and have been selected to represent Australia in the U19 Women’s Eight at the World Rowing Championships in Trakai, Lithuania from August 6–10. I’m so honoured to be part of this national team, and especially proud to row in the first ever NSW-dominant junior women’s eight—with 7 of us from NSW and 2 from SA. My amazing crew: Floss Hennessy, Maddie Swain, Tamara Bates, Grace Barrera, Mika Naito, Millie Cullinane, Zahra Taylor, and our coxswain Melody Yin.

See the team announcement: https://rowingaustralia.com.au/under-19.

We train out of the UTS Rowing Club in Sydney, 6 days a week—often twice or even three times a day. On July 20, we fly to Italy for a training camp at the AIS European base in Varese for 2 weeks, before heading to Lithuania to race against the world’s best.

Australia has only sent five junior women’s eights to Worlds in history, so this is a rare and special opportunity. I’m raising $10,000 to help cover seat fees, travel, accommodation, uniforms, equipment and medical expenses.

Donations of $2 or more are fully tax deductible and every bit of support—whether financial or just sharing this page—means the world to me!
