ABOUT Minka Elliott
I’m Minka Elliott. After competing at the Masters National Tournament in Tasmania in September 2025 for Queensland and recently playing at the Hockey Australia Masters Indoor Invitational, I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected to represent Australia at two Masters Hockey World Cups in 2026:
- Masters Indoor World Cup – Nottingham, UK (March)
- Masters Outdoor World Cup – Rotterdam, Netherlands (July/August)
This will be my first time wearing the green and gold for Masters hockey, and I’m honoured to play for:
- 40s Australian Women’s Indoor Team
- 35s Australian IMC Team (Outdoor)
Being chosen to represent Australia in both the indoor and outdoor Masters Hockey World Cup teams within the same year is truly a privilege. This achievement means a lot to me and reflects the effort and dedication I’ve put into the sport over the years. Hockey has been a lifelong passion that has taught me resilience, teamwork, and the value of community. This sport has not only shaped who I am as a player, but also as a person, and I’m eager to inspire others by sharing my journey, proving that age is simply a number and your passion for a sport can continue no matter how old you are.
Representing Australia as a Masters Hockey athlete is an honour; however, participation in this sport is entirely self-funded. Athletes are required to personally finance all expenses related to international competition and while I’m committed to making this happen, I need a little help to get there.
Your tax-deductible contribution will help cover the following costs:
- International travel, including flights to England and Holland
- Accommodation for training camps and tournaments
- Official Australian team uniforms and equipment
- Tournament registration fees and levies
- Expenses related to preparation and training
Competing in these tournaments offers an incredible chance to play at an elite level, engage with athletes from across the globe, and showcase the strength of Australian hockey.
Any support you can provide, whether big or small, will help ease the financial pressure of these campaigns and make it possible for me to proudly represent Australia on the world stage in 2026.
I totally understand not everyone can make a financial contribution, if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing my story with others who might be interested in supporting Australian Masters hockey athletes. Your encouragement, whether through a contribution or by spreading the word, truly makes a difference.
