ABOUT Miriam Siddel

Mill Park, VIC

My name is Miriam Siddel, and I am an elite Paraclimber, competing in the RP3 classification. I am the current RP3 National Champion and have been selected to represent Australia as part of the national team. My long-term goal is to represent Australia at the 2028 Paralympic Games, where sport climbing will be contested for the first time in history.

I came to Paraclimbing following a life-changing diagnosis of multiple sclerosis last year. While MS has presented new challenges, it has also reshaped my perspective on what is possible. Climbing has become more than a sport—it is a platform to pursue excellence, resilience, and representation at the highest level of international competition.

I am raising funds to support the essential costs of competing as an elite athlete. This includes coaching, facility access costs, training and competition equipment, as well as travel expenses for both interstate and international competitions. These events are critical experience, and selection opportunities on the pathway to the Paralympics.

Unlike many high-profile sports, Paraclimbing athletes often need to personally cover a significant portion of these costs. Your support directly enables me to train consistently, access high-quality coaching, and compete against the world’s best—ensuring I am prepared to perform at my peak when it matters most.

By supporting this campaign, you are not just contributing financially—you are becoming part of a historic journey. You are helping an Australian athlete pursue Paralympic qualification, elevate Paraclimbing on the world stage, and show what is possible after a life altering diagnosis.

If this journey resonates with you, I’d love for you to be part of it. Your support helps create the opportunity to compete, progress, and perform at the highest level.
