Our Story

Maroochy River Rowing Club is the only youth-only rowing club on the Sunshine Coast, supporting young athletes aged 12–27 to build confidence, strength, and resilience through the sport of rowing. We are passionate about helping young people become the best versions of themselves—on and off the water.

Right now, we’re raising funds to upgrade our fleet of rowing boats and oars. Our current equipment is all well over 10 years old and, while lovingly maintained, is no longer at the standard required for serious competition. Despite this, our rowers have recently achieved outstanding results at both State and National level, with several placing in the top ten in Queensland, top 8 Nationally and two selected to represent the state in 2025.

We believe that with the right equipment, our rowers can go even further. In 2025, we plan to add:

• 2 x quad/four boats
• 2 x doubles/pairs
• 3 x singles
• Sculling and sweep oars for each

Because our athletes vary greatly in size—from 6’6” boys to 5’7” girls—we need boats that fit them properly and allow them to compete safely and fairly.

While we’d love to replace our entire fleet at once, we know that’s not realistic. That’s why we’re starting here—with a clear plan and a community behind us. Every dollar raised goes directly toward new equipment that will serve our current and future rowers for years to come.
