    ABOUT Natalie Mellors

    Hi, I’m Natalie.

I was born with a congenital myopathy and had a stroke at just 19 months old. Life has thrown me a few curveballs, but I’ve always met them with quiet determination and a big heart.

Three years ago, I discovered para ice hockey – and it’s changed my life. It’s my first time playing a team sport, and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the game, the speed, and the community. After years of training, I’ve now been selected to represent Australia at the Women’s Para Ice Hockey World Championships in Slovakia – a dream I never imagined would be possible.

Outside of hockey, I’m a proud aunty to four beautiful nieces, and I work in the crèche at Zone Health and Fitness because I absolutely adore children. While I don’t have any of my own, I get to share joy and laughter with little ones every day.

I also have a bit of a zoo at home – two horses, two dogs, a cat, and two budgies! They bring me happiness, calm, and a sense of purpose.

This journey to Slovakia is entirely self-funded, and I’m reaching out for your support to help cover the costs of flights, accommodation, gear, and training. Your contribution – no matter how big or small – means the world to me. You’re not just helping me get to Slovakia; you’re helping me live out a dream, represent my country, and prove that no matter your start in life, incredible things are possible.

Thank you so much for being part of this journey.
