ABOUT Nathan Andronicus
My name is Nathan Andronicus, I am 18 years and with the assistance of my parents, am organising a fundraising page to help raise funds to attend the 2025 VIRTUS World Swimming Championships.
As an S14 swimmer, I have been selected to compete at the 2025 VIRTUS World Swimming Championships in Bangkok from August 20-30. My parents and I are raising funds to cover the $6,500 required for me to attend the 2025 VIRTUS World Swimming Championships.
My favourite swim strokes are breaststroke (50, 100, 200), freestyle (200, 400) and individual medley (200).
My swimming journey started at the age 10 years at Rooty Hill NSW SGAC. Swimming was introduced to gain skills in communication. As I was non-verbal in my earlier years. Loved swimming! And 4 months before my 15th birthday started my journey as a competitive swimmer. Swimming in FNQ and shortly after discovered I wanted to complete at a State level. At 16, I started training under Coach Herbie at HT Training & Swim School. Coach Herbie is an Para-Olympic Coach, whom has been instrumental in my development as a swimmer.
Swimming helps me maintain focus. As a classified S14 swimmer, I have won multiple silver and bronze medals at the Queensland State Championships and competed nationally at the 2023 and 2024 Australian Age & MC Championships. I’m the current Queensland state record for the MC 200 breaststroke for 17 and 18-year-old males.
In June I debut at the Australian Swimming Trials in South Australia competing in the 200 Free. Followed by breaststroke (50, 100), freestyle (100) and 200 individual medley. I’m proud of my achievements in swimming and am committed to my dream of one day being selected to join the Dolphins and compete at the Olympics.
Being selected for the 2025 VIRTUS World Swimming Championships is an honour, and I am excited to represent Australia. I've already raised $1,800 and have been generously donated just a little over $1,000. The $6,500 required is for flights, accommodation, entries fees, uniforms, food, physio and coaches.
My parents, big brothers, Nan, My Coach and my extended family are my greatest supporters, and can't wait to cheer me on.
Thank you for reading my story. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Please keep sharing my page with others. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant difference towards my swimming dreams/goals.
