ABOUT Nathan Ham
In late 2017 my father suffered a heart attack and at the beginning of 2018 I decided to attempt my first triathlon, an Ironman 70.3 in September 2018 as a way of pushing myself to do uncomfortable things whilst I was still fit and healthy.
I was instantly hooked on the sport and over the next 3 years competed across sprint, olympic and middle distance triathlons.
During 2020 and 2021 with races being cancelled my focus shifted back to powerlifting and I went on to have a successful 2022-2023 in the sport of powerlifting. A result of this was my weight jumping up to 94kg and finding myself the strongest, but, most unhealthy version of myself.
In December 2023 I decided to return back to training for triathlon under the guidance of my previous coach Jarrod Harvey from TriEdge. I set the lofty goal of returning to the Sunshine Coast to do the 2024 70.3 and along the way decided that I wanted to qualify for the 2025 Age Group World Championships in Wollongong. Over the next 12 months I dropped from 94kg down to 76kg and rediscovered my love for endurance sports.
In July 2025 I received confirmation that I had made the 30-34 Australian team to compete in Wollongong in October 2025.
Competing in triathlon comes with significant expenses and as an age group amateur there is no real funding available. I have set this page up to receive any support that I can to enable me to chase my goals of competing at the highest level that I can. Any support that can be provided either monetary or otherwise is greatly appreciated.
For any business partners that wish to come onboard I welcome the support and am happy to discuss ongoing sponsorship arrangements and advertising for your business.
Thank you to everyone that has backed me so far and I look forward to sharing the results that come in the upcoming seasons.
