ABOUT Nightcliff Cricket Club
The Nightcliff Cricket Club was formed in 1968 from the old Commonwealth Department of Works Cricket Club and was a foundation affiliate club of the Nightcliff Sports Club the following year.
NCC has developed from a one-side club to a fully fledged competitor in Territory Cricket. NCC consists of five senior grades and four junior grades (with eight junior sides) as well as well-attended seasons of Woolworths Blast (formerly In2Cricket) clinics run by NCC from May each year for 5 to 8 year-old players.
As one of Darwin’s longest-established cricket clubs, NCC has a proud history of developing young cricketers through pathways that begin with Woolworths Cricket Blast and continue through junior and senior competition. Many Territory representatives and elite-level players started their journey at Nightcliff, but our primary goal is to ensure every child, regardless of ability or experience, has the opportunity to participate and enjoy the game.
The funding will be used to purchase junior cricket equipment and resources that enhance training sessions and match-day experiences, reduce barriers to participation, and support the growing number of children joining our programs. By investing in quality equipment, we can provide a safer, more engaging environment and accommodate increasing participation across our junior grades.
The project will be delivered by our experienced committee, volunteers and accredited coaches, who already successfully manage junior competitions and Woolworths Cricket Blast programs each year. With strong community support and established cricket development pathways, NCC is well positioned to ensure the funding delivers lasting benefits for junior players and their families.
