ABOUT Nikki Fechner

Redbank Plains, QLD

Ben and Lachy picked up a basketball at just five years old—and they haven’t looked back since. They first met playing Ipswich Force representative basketball in the Under 12s, quickly forming a strong on-court connection that has only grown over the years. Their shared passion for the game and countless hours spent training, competing, and simply hanging out have created lifelong memories and a powerful bond.

These boys truly live and breathe basketball. If they’re not at training or a game, you’ll find them shooting hoops, developing new skills, or studying the sport they love. Their dedication has driven them through four outstanding seasons with Ipswich representative basketball, including an unforgettable experience at Club Nationals in Perth. There, they competed against some of the best young athletes in the country and embraced the challenge of lifting their team to new heights.

Ben and Lachy have worked hard to hone their basketball IQ, refine their skills, and demonstrate sportsmanship both on and off the court. As co-captains, they’ve taken pride in leading by example and in helping their teammates grow.

This year, both boys were selected for the prestigious Future Development Program—an honour given to just 50 young athletes identified for their potential to excel. After three months of intensive training, capped off by a performance camp, they earned their places in the Under 15 Queensland South Emerging Team.

Their next exciting step is representing Queensland South at the Southern Cross Challenge in Melbourne this January.

To help make this opportunity possible, the boys are seeking support to cover costs of **$3,250 per player**, as required by Basketball Queensland.

Thank you for taking the time to read about their journey, their achievements, and their dreams. Every contribution helps them take the next step in their basketball future.

**Let’s go, Ben and Lachy!**
