For years now Nondies Cohuna Cricket Club have been pushing to improve the facilties at the Cohuna Recreation Reserve 2nd Oval. This ground has been a long term home of Nondies Cricket Club and post merger with Cohuna Cricket Club, this location has continued to serve the home of the club. Over the past few seasons we have continued to pour time and money into improving the surface of the ground, training facilities and the current Hut building. We have done this to showcase our township and give those involved in community sport and recreation the best possible experience.

We are now looking to undertake our biggest upgrade yet. It will be done in three stages.

Stage 1- We are looking to add a 10 x 4.5m long undercover area at the front of the existing Hut. This facility will be available to all members of the community. While used for cricket matches and gatherings it will be available to Little Athletics, school sports, cross country events, Cohuna Show Society and the wider public. It will provide much needed shade and the most basic of facilities such as BBQ and running water which the reserve has never had.

Stage 2 of this project will see us work towards getting sewerage to the Western side of the reserve we can install much needed toilets for players, supporters and the general public. This will be public access toilets which will be a major upgrade to those on the Southern side of the reserve.

Stage 3 will see up build a new multi-purpose facility on the Western side of the oval. We have full ready to go plans for this and have got support from the land owner we just need to raise capital to do so. Again this facility will be all members of our community to use and access. We plan on running this facility through a management team with numerous members of the community involved. We are also hopeful this facility will bring new organisations to the reserve.

This project is being fully funded by Nondies Cohuna Cricket Club. We have had some amazing donations from local businesses to help us out to get this project started. We are seeking some additional funding from the community to complete this project in its entirety. This is not a cheap exercise and with no support from grants we are asking for donations of any amount. By donating to this fundraiser, your name will go up on a board in the new building as a way of us saying thankyou.
