    ABOUT North Shore Boardriders

    Maroochydore, QLD

North Shore Boardriders is a grassroots Sunshine Coast surf club with a proud history dating back to the late 1960s, when a group of Redcliffe surfers began travelling north on weekends to camp, surf and build the foundations of what would become one of Queensland’s most respected boardriding clubs.

Today, North Shore Boardriders continues that same community-driven tradition. We are a club built on surfing, mateship, competition, family involvement and the belief that young surfers develop best when they are supported by the people around them. Our members range from juniors through to experienced surfers, parents, volunteers and long-time club supporters who all contribute to the culture of the club.

We are raising funds to support our 2026 Junior Development Program, with the major goal of helping our junior surfers attend a High Performance Camp in September.

The Junior Development Program has been created to give our young surfers a more structured pathway beyond ordinary club rounds. Through regular coaching, team-based development, tag team heats, mentoring and club competition experience, the program is designed to help juniors improve their surfing, understand competition strategy, build confidence and learn the value of teamwork.

This matters because boardrider clubs do more than run surfing contests. They create community. They give young people a place to belong, a reason to stay active, a pathway to improve and a support network around them. For junior surfers, that can make a real difference — not just in their surfing, but in their confidence, friendships, resilience and personal development.

The September High Performance Camp is the key development opportunity within this program. It gives our juniors access to a higher level of coaching, focused training, team bonding and a memorable experience that can help lift their surfing and confidence. For many families, however, the cost of attending these opportunities can be a barrier. Our aim is to raise funds so we can reduce that barrier and give more committed junior members the chance to participate.

We plan to make this happen through a combination of club fundraising, community support, sponsorship and contributions through the Australian Sports Foundation. Funds raised will go towards helping cover costs associated with the High Performance Camp and supporting the delivery of the Junior Development Program.

Our juniors are the future of North Shore Boardriders. By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping create a stronger pathway for young surfers, supporting grassroots sport, and investing in the next generation of club members, competitors, volunteers and leaders.

    Every contribution helps.
