In January 2026, the Norwest Rugby Club’s U18 Opens team will embark on the experience of a lifetime, a Rugby Union Tour to Japan. But this isn’t just about rugby. It’s about opening doors, building resilience, and inspiring a generation of young athletes through opportunity and purpose.

Many of the players on this tour come from low socio-economic backgrounds. For some, this will be their first time on a plane let alone representing their club, their families, and their community on the international stage. This tour represents more than a sporting challenge it’s a life-changing journey that fosters confidence, cultural understanding, and a stronger sense of belonging.

We’ve also partnered with R U OK? to make mental health a core part of our tour ethos promoting meaningful conversations, peer support, and community awareness both on and off the field.
