NQDLBA is based in Townsville, and oversees 18 affiliated clubs, spanning from Macknade in the north to Bowen in the south, Magnetic Island to the east, and Hughenden to the west.

Our mission is to actively promote the sport of lawn bowls by providing pathways for participation and development—from club competitions through to state and national representation—while proudly celebrating the achievements of our players and clubs.

Each year we select a team of 12 players to represent our District against all other Districts affiliated with Bowls Queensland. The week long competition is usually played in SE Queensland - some 1300km away and we need to raise funds for the associated accommodation expenses. There is a second representative team selected for the Women's Northern Challenge contested on a rotational basis against our two closest neighbouring Districts based some 400km to the north and south of Townsville and again we need to fund accommodation expenses.
