My name is Oakley Rowton, I am 13 years old and I play in the U14 teams for UWA Water Polo Club. I have been playing water polo for over 5 years now after starting in Flippaball when I was in Grade 3. For the last 3 years I have been training through the winter in our club's winter academies as well as train during the summer season. I played in the U12 for 3 years and was in the premiership winning team in season 2022/23 and 2024/25. I now play in the U14s and occasionally help out in the U16s in the local WA Junior Leagues.

One day I'd like to play for the UWA Torpedoes in the Australian Waterpolo League and also play in Australian junior and senior teams.

As a junior player at UWAWPC, there are trips to play in tournaments either over in the eastern states or sometimes overseas. These tournaments are important as they provide a higher level of competition than the local leagues.

I am currently raising funds to play in the 2026 Australian National Youth Water Polo Championships held in Brisbane from 8-12 April, 2026. I care about playing in this tournament because I get to challenge myself and my team against stronger eastern states teams. By playing higher level water polo, I get the chance to become a better player. Tournaments are fun too - I get to meet kids from around Australia who also love playing water polo.
