The Ocean Grove Breakers Basketball Club was founded in 2022 with a mission to make basketball accessible to people of all ages in our community. We are committed to fair play, healthy competition, inclusion, and participation.

In just three years, the club has grown to 600 players across 86 teams, making us one of the fastest-growing junior sporting organisations in the region. With this growth comes a responsibility to provide safe, reliable, and high-quality training opportunities for every child who wants to play. However, as Ocean Grove’s population has surged, indoor sporting facilities have not kept pace. Our primary training venue — the Ocean Grove Stadium (BASC) — is unable to meet the needs of our growing club. 

To meet immediate and long-term needs, we propose the development of a Multipurpose Indoor Community Training Facility — the Breaker Dome.

The Breaker Dome will provide the possibility for:

• Before/after school weekday training availability, as well as in the evenings

• Flexible weekend availability

• Smaller, more effective training groups

• Longer sessions instead of 40 minutes

• Dedicated club storage and identity

• Community use during school hours

This facility will be a community asset, not just a basketball court.
