    ABOUT Oliver Kent

    Brisbane, QLD

My name is Ollie Kent, Im a 17year old yr12 student at Brisbane Boys Grammar school.

My rowing journey began in year 8, with my school rowing program. What started as trying a new sport quickly became a passion that has shaped so much of who I am today.

Over the last 5 years, rowing has taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork and commitment. Early mornings, long training sessions, balancing schoolwork with sport and pushing through challenges have all been part of the journey. Sacrifice and support from my family has meant every session on the water brought me one step closer to my dream.

This July, I will be representing Australia at the International Rowing Challenge in Michigan USA. This is a long standing u19 international competition, where teams of 9 athletes compete to medal across multiple boat classes, as well as an overall team score for the Challenge Cup. Australia has been invited for the first time this year and as the inaugural Australian team, we are proud to be the trailblazers representing our country on the world stage.

To wear the green and Gold and compete Internationally is an incredible honour and something I have worked tirelessly to achieve. It will be an unforgettable experience and an important step in my rowing journey.

But, International competition comes with significant costs including flights, accommodation, uniforms, transport, and competition expenses as well as interstate training camps in the lead up. I am currently fundraising to help offset these costs and hope to raise $7500.

Any support, no matter how big or small would be truely appreciated. Even sharing my story helps more than you know. Donations are tax deductible.

    Thankyou
