Hi, I'm Ollie Horne — a 14-year-old Australian athlete who has just been selected to represent Australia in the American Football Australia Under 15s team at an international tournament in Los Angeles, United States.

This is genuinely a dream come true. Being chosen to wear the green and gold is the result of many training sessions and a commitment to keep improving. American football has given me so much — discipline, resilience, and a deep appreciation for what it means to be part of a team. Those values drive everything I do, both on and off the field.

Competing on an international stage will challenge me in the best possible way. I'll be testing myself against some of the world's best young players, learning from elite coaches, and building experience that will shape the rest of my athletic career. Most importantly, I'll have the honour of representing Australia with pride, respect, and sportsmanship.

That said, getting there isn't simple. Travel, accommodation, competition fees, uniforms, and preparation all add up — and for this event, the total cost is AUD $5,800.
