Orford Golf Club is an important hub for the local Triabunna/Orford Community. We have approximately 200 playing members, host many members from other clubs in our competitions, and have over 2000 casual visitors per year - from Tasmania, interstate and overseas. We are actively promoting golf to juniors, including offering golf clinics and working with the Triabunna District High School to introduce students to golf.

The Club has aging infrastructure and plant and equipment, and the current Committee has identified a program of works and capital purchases over the next five years to maintain and improve the course. Some major works are required in coming years, in particular, the replacement of our aged irrigation system; thatching, scarification and reseeding of fairways, tree planting and tee-bed improvements. We will also have a need to replace our fairway mower in coming years, as it reaches its use by date.

The Club has identified a number of fundraising approaches to help fund these projects. We were successful in obtaining a $130,000 state government grant towards our irrigation upgrade and tree felling, but this will not meet the full cost of the first stage. We are also actively seeking out new sponsors, encouraging corporate days, doing Friday night 9&Dine dinners, and encouraging members to recycle their containers and donate proceeds to the club. Donations to the ASF is just one more avenue for members to support the Club - and get a tax advantage at the same time.
