Port Stephens Outrigger Canoe Club is a volunteer-run community sporting club which has been promoting outrigger canoe paddling since 1995. With 73 active members, the Club provides opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to improve their fitness, enjoy the outdoors, compete in regattas and build lifelong friendships.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. As our club continues to grow, some of our equipment is becoming outdated and longer meets the needs of our paddlers. To ensure we

can continue providing a safe and enjoyable environment, we are seeking support to upgrade essential equipment and facilities.

Our fundraising goal is $45,000 which will allow us to purchase:

1.     A new lightweight outrigger canoe to replace heavy ageing equipment

2.     EPIRB safety equipment for offshore paddling

3.     GoPro cameras to canoe safety monitoring and training review

4.     VHF radios for communication with Marine Rescue

5.     Re-entry straps to improve safety following canoe capsize incidents

6.     Branded gazebos to provide sun protection at regattas and club events

7.     Speed coaches to support training and athlete development
