    ABOUT Rachael Dols

Hi, I'm Rachael. I’ve spent the past six years serving my community as a full-time frontline police officer— protecting, supporting, and giving my all, both on and off duty. In 2019, I discovered triathlon, igniting a dream to one day compete on the world’s biggest stage: the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.

That dream was tested in 2022 when I was diagnosed with a rare arterial condition—external iliac artery endofibrosis—that severely restricted blood flow to my right leg. Despite the pain, I pushed through and completed my first full-distance IRONMAN in Cairns. It was agony, but I crossed that finish line. I underwent major surgery that year. In 2023, I faced another major setback: post-viral chronic fatigue knocked me out of racing for 18 months.

I made my comeback in late 2024, claiming 3rd place at IRONMAN 70.3 Melbourne, followed by a 2nd place finish at IRONMAN Australia on May 4th, 2025. That race earned me a coveted spot at the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona.

Now, I have the opportunity of a lifetime—to represent my country and show the world what true resilience looks like. But with travel, equipment, and race expenses, the cost of this journey exceeds $15,000 AUD.
