ABOUT Rebecca Webber
Rebecca Webber’s journey in the saddle began in late 2021, initially picking up the reins as a form of therapy following her diagnosis with Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 36 (SCA36). SCA36 is an ultra-rare, progressive, and degenerative neurological genetic disease. What started as a rehabilitative pursuit quickly transformed into a high-performance career, as she transitioned through Western sports and into the elite international arena of Para Dressage by 2023.
Now a member of the Equestrian Australia National High Performance Squad and a VIS Para Uplift Athlete, Rebecca has rapidly ascended the global ranks. Her dedication to the sport and the community was recognized in 2025 when she was honored with the Equestrian Victoria Impact to Sport Award for Para Dressage.
Currently ranked 24th internationally, Rebecca is actively campaigning for a podium position at the LA28 Paralympic Games. A critical milestone in this program is the upcoming Australian National Championships in October 2026.
