ABOUT Red Shed
As a project initiated by the Black Mountain Rowing Club (BMRC), Red Shed recognises the transformative potential of rowing and is dedicated to using rowing as a tool for positive change within the Canberra community.
As a traditionally expensive sport, it can be difficult to access and experience the benefits of rowing. As a NFP, Red Shed aims to use rowing to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities -- encouraging inclusivity and fostering a sense of belonging among its members.
By focusing on personal development, resilience, and overall wellness, Red Shed has created a large, supportive and nurturing environment for rowers of all levels. Through structured training programs, mentoring, and community-building activities, Red Shed's programs nurture people physically, mentally and emotionally, while also instilling valuable life skills, building close and supportive networks and having fun.
Donations to Red Shed go directly to facilitate rowing programs for new, aspiring and recreational rowers. From high school students to corporate teams, from aspiring athletes to retirees -- all are welcome at Red Shed.
