ABOUT Redlands Netball Association INC
Growing the Next Redlands Diamond
As the newest franchise in the HART Premier Netball League, we represent the next chapter of elite netball development in the Redlands.
Our ambition is bold and clear:
We want to grow a Redlands Diamond.
Not a diamond worn on a finger or created in a laboratory — but an Olympic Australian Diamond, developed, nurtured and supported right here in our community.
Building a Legacy of Excellence
Before the formation of the Eagles, pathways for aspiring elite athletes in the Redlands were limited. Talented players were often required to leave the region to pursue high-performance opportunities.
The Redlands Coast Eagles were created to change that.
Our mission is to build a legacy of excellence — on and off the court — by creating strong, sustainable pathways for female and male athletes. We proudly support and strengthen development opportunities through the Ruby and Emerald competitions, the Men’s League, and participation in 16s and 18s State Titles programs.
In just our first season, we have seen remarkable early success:
- Three athletes — Lila, Bree and Freja — selected in Queensland Representative State Squads to compete at the 2026 National Titles.
- Amy Sommerville and Carynne Robinson appointed to Queensland State coaching teams.
- Merrin McCulloch selected as Manager of the Queensland U17 team.
These achievements demonstrate both the depth of talent in our region and the strength of the high-performance environment we are building.
The Next Step: Sapphire League
Our next milestone is to secure a Sapphire Series License — positioning the Eagles one tier below the Queensland Firebirds in the state’s elite pathway.
However, progression to this level requires access to appropriate high-performance facilities. Elite netball is trained and played on indoor sprung wooden courts. Without access to suitable infrastructure within the Redlands, our athletes will be forced to relocate to other associations and schools to pursue their ambitions — draining our region of its talent and future potential.
To compete, we must invest in both our program and our facilities.
Our Three-Stage Vision
We are seeking support from individuals, local businesses, national brands and philanthropic partners who believe in developing not only elite athletes, but confident, resilient leaders for our community.
Our staged vision includes:
Stage 1 – 2026 Season Success
Funding to deliver a competitive, professionally supported HART Premier League season.
Stage 2 – Sapphire Future Fund
Establishing a dedicated high-performance fund to secure a Sapphire Licence and build a sustainable elite program, the Eagles Edge.
Stage 3 – A Home for the Eagles
Developing a purpose-built indoor netball facility in the heart of the Redlands — a high-performance centre that retains talent, inspires participation, and anchors elite sport in our community.
The Legacy We Aim to Create
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games present a once-in-a-generation opportunity. With the right support today, we can create the pathway for a Redlands athlete to represent Australia as a Diamond on the world stage.
This is about more than sport.
It is about opportunity, aspiration, community pride and generational impact.
Together, we can grow a Redlands Diamond.
