Meet Ronron: Proof That Height Doesn’t Define Heart

Hi, I’m Ronron — a young basketball player with a big dream.

Ever since I picked up a basketball, I knew it was more than just a game to me — it was my passion. But growing up, I faced a lot of challenges, especially because of my height. I’ve often been called names, teased, and underestimated by others who believed size was everything in basketball.

But I’ve never let that stop me.

I may be small in stature, but I play with heart, grit, and determination. Every time I step on the court, I prove that being small is not a weakness — it’s a strength. I’ve worked hard, trained even harder, and learned how to use my speed, skills, and heart to make my mark in the game.

This year, I was honored to represent Western Australia in a basketball competition held in Manila, Philippines. Competing with other talented Filipino athletes my age — many of whom also have Filipino blood — was an unforgettable experience. It reminded me that no matter where you’re from or how tall you are, dreams are valid if you chase them with passion.

And the journey doesn’t stop there.

Next year, I’ve been given another incredible opportunity: to represent Western Australia again at the NBTC tournament in Manila. This is a big step for me, and I want to inspire other small athletes who feel like they don’t belong. Being small doesn’t mean you can’t dream big. Don’t let taller players intimidate you. Believe in your game, and trust in your hard work.

To make this journey possible, I’m reaching out for your support. I’ll be needing help to cover travel and registration expenses for the NBTC competition.
