    ABOUT Ruby Vanloo

Representing Australia on the world stage has been a lifelong dream, and I’m proud to share that I’ve been selected to compete in the World University Games in Berlin, Germany. This international event brings together elite student-athletes from across the globe and is a huge milestone in both my athletic and academic journey. This is a unique chance to compete internationally and challenge myself against some of the best athletes from around the world.

The road to this point hasn’t been easy. Like many athletes, I’ve faced setbacks, including injuries that tested my resilience and determination (currently in rehab from a grade-3 ankle injury). At the same time, I’ve had to balance the demands of competitive sport with part-time study in Exercise and Sport Science, as well as casual work in both administration and coaching roles. My daily life often consists of multiple training sessions, managing university deadlines, and fitting in work wherever I can. It’s a tough schedule, but my passion for the sport and my long-term goals keep me going.

Unfortunately, participating in the World University Games is entirely self-funded, meaning I need to cover the full cost of flights, accommodation, uniforms, registration, and other essential expenses. That’s why I’ve launched this fundraising campaign — to ask for your support in helping make this opportunity a reality.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward making this dream possible. Whether it’s a donation of any size, sharing my campaign, or connecting me with a potential sponsor, any support you can offer brings me one step closer to proudly representing Australia on the international stage. I’m deeply grateful for your generosity and belief in my journey.

Thank you for being part of this chapter with me — I can’t wait to make you proud.
