ABOUT Sam Stubbs
I have qualified to represent Australia at The World Crossfit Championships in America in July 2026.
I am 27 years old and have been training for and competing in Crossfit competitions for the past 10 years. I was very proud to come joint first in the Semi Finals, Adaptive Division in September 2025
but was unfortunately unable to go to America last year due to the high costs.
Last November, I got very sick with a collapsed lung and spent a few weeks in hospital including ICU but now I am back, training hard, and at the end of May went to the Gold Coast for the Oceania Crossfit Championships and I am proud to say I won the Gold Medal in the adaptive division!
And yes, I was born with Down syndrome but it doesn't stop me!
In addition to Crossfit, I also play for my local AFL Team, the Bay and Basin Bombers and surf each week with Good Surf. I also work at Husky Bakery, live independently and have a wonderful girlfriend of nearly 6 years.
On 3 June I featured on ABC 7.30pm Report so you can see what I'm up to https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-06-03/intellectual-disability-healthcare-down-syndrome-training/106733906?utm_campaign=abc_news_web&utm_content=link&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_source=abc_news_web
To help me with the cost of getting to America to represent Australia on the world stage, I am asking for your help with a tax deductible donation. This will go towards travel expenses for me, my Coach and my parents who I need to support me, accommodation, my competition fees and equipment costs. Estimated cost of $12,000
