ABOUT Sarah-Jayne Miller
Hi, I’m SJ a proud Albury-based trail runner, working mum of three, local high school teacher, and Australian national representative.
I’ve spent over a decade competing at the highest level of trail running in Australia, earning multiple national team selections along the way. I’m now honoured to have been chosen once again to represent Australia, this time at the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Spain, as one of only four female athletes selected nationally for the 45km short course trail event.
This is the result of 11 years of self-funded racing, balancing motherhood, teaching, and elite national competition. I’ve stood on the podium at nearly every national event I’ve entered and now have the opportunity to showcase not just my own dedication, but the strength and potential of Albury athletes on the world stage.
Unlike many Australian sports, Trail Running currently receives no formal funding for international representation. Right now, athletes selected to represent Australia must cover all costs themselves, including international travel, accommodation, uniforms, and insurance.
That’s why I’m reaching out to local businesses like yours. Any donation through this page is fully tax-deductible.
By contributing, you're not just helping me get to the start line in Spain, you’re helping us send full teams to compete on the world stage and bring awareness to the sport. With greater exposure, we can hopefully gain enough visibility so that future Australian trail runners are funded, ensuring the best athletes, regardless of their financial means, have the chance to wear the green and gold.
In return, I’d love to publicly acknowledge your business, share updates from my journey, and celebrate your support in the lead-up to and following the event.
If your business believes in the power of community spirit and backing local, hard-working mums with big goals, then please consider donating. Together, it’s exciting to see what’s possible when Albury gets behind its own.
