I love playing ice hockey — especially in the position of goaltender.

(Although I still enjoy skating out as a player recreationally from time to time 😊)

I first laced up skates at six and a half years old and spent my primary school years competing in figure skating. But the moment I saw the kids playing ice hockey at my local rink, I knew my passion for skating belonged in hockey. At 13, I was finally able to begin ice hockey lessons, and the following year (2017) I played my first — and only — season as a skater.

After that season, I realised my heart was in the crease. I made the switch to goaltender at the start of 2018 and haven’t looked back since.

Since then, I’ve had the incredible honour of representing Western Australia at the Australian National Championships, Perth Inferno in the Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL), and Australia at the IIHF Women’s World Championships.

Through hockey, I’ve travelled across Australia and around the world, competing alongside and against remarkable athletes. I strive to represent my teams and my sport in a way that inspires enjoyment, pride and engagement. I’ve been deeply inspired by my teammates, coaches, and the extraordinary volunteers who make our sport possible, and I hope to pay that forward by encouraging others to believe in their dreams and pursue them wholeheartedly.

At home, I invest in private, goaltender-specific coaching whenever available. Each July, I travel to Canada to train at an elite women’s goaltending camp, where I work alongside PWHL and Olympic-level goaltenders. These opportunities allow me to continue developing at the highest level and to be the very best goaltender I can be for my city, my state and my country.

Competing at this level comes with significant costs. My annual expenses — including team fees, uniforms, replacement equipment and specialised training — typically range between $20,000–$25,000 AUD.
