    ABOUT Scarlett BUG Eade

    Caulfield North, VIC

Hi, my name is Scarlett (but everyone calls me Bug) and I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been selected to represent the U15 Australasian Gaelic Football team. In June 2026, I’ll be travelling to Ireland to compete in the LGFA Féile tournament, representing Australasia and my community.

Part of being selected for this tour means the team has to fundraise to help cover the costs for the trip. Gaelic football is an amateur sport, and opportunities like this are mostly self-funded, with families contributing to flights, accommodation, team levies, uniforms and preparation costs. I’m so grateful for any support that helps make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible.

I’ve always loved pushing myself outside my comfort zone. I’ve played AFL football for the past six years, and it was through my 1:1 footy coach Dean that I was encouraged to give Gaelic football a go. I decided to take the leap, try something completely new (I still play AFL!), and I was lucky enough to be selected along with 20 other girls making a squad of 21. Since then, I’ve been training hard with the team each Sunday and learning a whole new style of footy that challenges me in the best way...it's a round ball 🏐🤪!

On top of my AFL and now Gaelic Footy, I also give everything I have to Touch Football and Basketball, don't ask me how I fit it all in. I try to bring 100% effort, 100% of the time, whether it’s training, game day, or supporting my teammates. Representing Australasia in Ireland is about more than just a tournament. It’s about growing as an athlete and a person, challenging myself in a new environment, meeting so many cool people I wouldn't have, and making the most of this incredible opportunity.

Thank you so much for being part of my journey. Any contribution, big or small, helps me and my U15 Girls team take this dream all the way to Ireland ☘️.
