I'm proud to share that I’ve been selected to represent Queensland as part of the Queensland Crocs Women’s Baseball Team at the upcoming Barclay Cup Friendship Series, taking place in Melbourne at the end of September 2026. This is a national event that celebrates and empowers women in baseball, in memory of the late Jacinda Barclay, an Australian baseball legend who sadly passed away in 2020. The Barclay Cup is more than just a tournament; it’s a celebration of Jacinda’s legacy and her passion for the sport. It embodies her belief in challenging oneself, fostering camaraderie, and creating unforgettable friendships and memories.

By providing a platform for our youth women, the Barclay Cup highlights the inclusive and progressive nature of modern baseball. This tournament is a crucial step in developing the skills, confidence, and passion of these young players, paving the way for a future where baseball is a sport for all. It’s a chance to showcase the growing strength of women’s baseball in Queensland and beyond, and promises to be an amazing experience that inspires the next generation of female baseballers.

As with many representative opportunities, participation comes with significant costs, including travel, accommodation, uniforms, and tournament expenses. To help make this opportunity possible, I am seeking support from generous individuals and businesses in the community. Any contribution, big or small would be sincerely appreciated and will go directly towards helping cover these expenses. Your support will not only help me get to Melbourne but will also support grassroots growth and visibility of women in the sport.

Thank you for considering this request and for supporting young female athletes like me.

Warm regards,

Scarlett Fryer
